Jakarta - After Sail Bunaken was held, the government will held Sail Banda 2010 located in the waters in Banda, Maluku, from July to August. Luxury liner owned by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries will participate in this event.

500 Lagoon Ships were plan to sail from Batam and have a rest in Banda "The Lagoon Ships will be at Banda," said Director General of Supervision and Control of Marine Resources and Fisheries Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Aji Sularso.

It is said in the launching of Sail Banda 2010 at Hotel Borobudur, Jakarta, Wednesday, (3/2/2010).

Aji explained, the ship that cost USD 14 trilion is still in Batam. The plan is, after the letters has finished and ABK doing their training, this ship will go to Jakarta. From Jakarta, this French-madeship will sail to survey the coral reefs in the waters of the archipelago and pulled down in the waters of Maluku.

"Right now the ABK is still doing their training in Batam," Aji said.

Sail Banda will be held from July 24 until August 17,2010. The event will begin with a sailboat race from Australia to Banda. In addition, there will be the largest hospital ship owned by the U.S. Navy, the USNS MERCY T-AH19.

This ship is 273 meters longand carrying 956 medical personnel and doctors for services in Banda and surrounding islands. KRI Dr. Soeharso will accompany this ship to provide health services.
